In just a few more hours, and Chez du Plessis, Centurion, will be arriving on the 1st floor of #9 Rue Sellenick, our Stasbourg apartment.
To say that we are excited would be an understatement. Anton and I are currently sitting on our IKEA sleeper couch, with 2 tired little girls curled up and snoring between us. We are celebrating the last night of our camping session with candles- neither of us of fans of harsh overhead bulbs- and tin cups of Alsace Riesling. This time tomorrow, we will be surrounded by mostly everything that is familiar.
This day has been a long time coming, and we have made much a hype about it. Beth is largely unaware of what will happen tomorrow afternoon, but I will be setting my phone’s video recorder close on hand when we open up those boxes to guage her reaction.
Alex on the other hand is READY!
After a night she and I shared on a blow up mattress, waking up with each rustle and body shift, she opened her eyes at 05h56, and exclaimed with the broadest smile my closed eyelids could envisage : “Mom, our stuff is coming TOMORROW!!! I can ride my bike to school, and I will have my own bed.”
I will not bother you with more mundane commentary, except to put in some photo’s of the empty apartment. These I will follow up with something a little bit more artistic once the dust is swept away, and the Ficuses have been bought. From IKEA.
Wish you were here, to open up the Cremant tomorrow night with us.
